Forum Rules

I. General Rules of Conduct

Rule 1. On Trolls and Disrespecting Other Members
Members who establish a pattern of disruptive posting evidenced to be bashing or trolling our community, or have the intention of trolling our community from other fansites, will be subject to restrictions of their accounts, suspension, or banning at the discretion of the Staff. Do not flame anyone, no matter what the cause. All slurs whether they be racial, religious, and sexual orientation are all prohibited. Discussions of raids of other boards are also prohibited. Please be mature and agree to disagree if you feel a situation is getting out of hand.

Rule 2. On Blood and Gore and Gruesome Violence and "Screamers"/"Shock Sites"
Depictions of real cruelty, blood, gore, and dismemberment of humans or animals that is not part of a news story or media event is prohibited from being posted as well as linked to publicly. This applies to blogs, avatars and sigs. We also discourage the activity of posting links to shock sites, and screamers, and things like that. We don't need that stuff in our forum.

Rule 3. On Posting Etiquette and Spamming
All posts are to be made in English on the forum and should be on-topic at all times. Before you make a post or thread, read the similar topics above your post to verify that it isn't something already being discussed. Post your threads in the correct forum and correctly label them. Do not post full articles: it is generally acceptable to post portions of the article (no more than three paragraphs) and give a link to the source article. This applies to online newspaper and magazine articles, blogs, product manuals, etc. If you have a post with several large images, put them all in a spoiler tag so that they won't take up much space in threads. No spamming, cross posting, or links requiring registration in order to enter or display the link are allowed.

Rule 4. On Infractions and "Backseat Moderating"
Because of the size of the forum, it is impossible for moderators to find all rule-breaking posts on their own, therefore we depend on you to report posts. Reporting rule-breaking posts ensures the forum of being a clean and fun environment and speeds up the process for moderators. If your post is reported and infracted you may contact a moderator or administrator about it privately but not to the point of harassment. Don't make a scene about infractions publicly, learn from your mistakes and carry on. Also, please no "backseat moderating". Report the post and let the moderators or the administrator take care of the problem.

Rule 5. On Grievances & Harassment
Wherever possible, members should attempt to resolve grievances with other members and/or forum management through private messages. No demeaning or derogatory statements targeting the Staff or the forum in general in any public sections are allowed. Uninvited sexually-oriented, stalking, or life-threatening messages through PM to any forum member are also prohibited (Please note: that although private messages are private they can be reported to the staff by other members, so please make sure that the other person actually wants to see what you are PMing them or else they can report you.)

Rule 6. On Piracy and other Illegal activities
Actual hacking, file sharing sites, password sites, warez sites, phishing links, illegal downloading methods, streaming sites, copyrighted material as well as linking to them are prohibited. Posting or PMing another member's personal information including full names, addresses, phone numbers, emails, and IPs are also prohibited and will result in the banning of your account if they report you. Don't even share your own info unless you feel extremely comfortable.

Rule 7. On Accounts and Suspended Members
Banned members attempt to get around their bannings through use of proxies, therefore the use of proxies is not allowed on our forum. Do not create multiple accounts. All members are allowed only ONE account per invididual unless under special circumstances granted by an admin, and any violators caught with multiple accounts will get any and all of their accounts banned as well as their Internet Protocols. Do not allow a banned member to login with your good-standing account or you will be banned as well. If you ever have an issue with your account (whether it was forgotten, hacked, or being suspended/banned) please email the administrator about it via the contact link and you will be assisted.

Rule 8. On Piggybacking and Recruiting
Do not use this forum, it's resources, and it's reputation as a means to recruit members to other TWD forums, TWD websites, TWD fan-pages, TWD social media outlets, etc. Such advertisement and all methods of it are prohibited whether by posting in threads, via blogs, or even via PMing and will result in the banning of your account. If you wish to be a partner with Spoil The Dead and have your TWD-related site promoted, approval must be cleared via PM with the Administrator first.

Rule 9. On Pornography, Hentai, Necrophilia, and Bestiality
When it comes to real humans, do not post adult pornographic material or anything else deemed otherwise overly obscene. You may post artistic (heavily shadowed or covered) photos if nothing over the top is clearly showing. But sex videos, very clear topless or nude adult photos, and ALL pornographic or even risque material/comments involving underage individuals are expressly prohibited (this includes pretend/fake porn, cartoons, drawings, hentai and anything involving humans and non-humans).

Rule 10. On Policies & Information
Each member is expected to adhere to the rules set forth in our community. It is your responsibility to check in from time to time for any updates to not only these, but the other policies listed in the dropdown menu above. Carefully read and follow our Avatar and Signatures rules, Spoiler Policy, Fanfiction rules, Penalties, and our policy regarding Self-Promotion. Each of which is more specific than what is generalized in the General Rules of Conduct.

II. Spoiler Policy

Rule 1. On Posting Spoilers
A spoiler is a text, image, or video that reveals something about an episode that has not yet aired. This includes television and comics. You may post any spoiler found anywhere, no matter how big or small, untagged on the Spoiler Discussion board. Elsewhere you must tag your spoilers at all times or give a clear warning in your title that the subject will contain spoilers. Do not ruin the show for those who wish to remain unspoiled. Once an episode airs on the east coast, it is no longer considered to be a spoiler and is fair game to post anywhere on the forum.

Rule 2. On Compilation Threads
Spoilers may be discussed at length in threads created by all members. However, Compilation threads are special moderator-created threads meant only for the latest spoilers so that members won't have to sift through pages to find them. These are not discussion threads. Do NOT comment or ask questions in them. Post your spoiler pics, images, or texts in them and then discuss them in threads you create below.

Rule 3. On Posting Hearsay Spoilers
While posting and speculating on rumors is allowed, to impersonate someone who works on the show or to claim to know someone who does in order to give credence to things you post is considered trolling of this site and may lead to the banning of your account. Please label your threads as "rumor" when you are not 100% sure and do not make things up in order to get attention.

Rule 4. On Unofficial Sources
If you have a source of unofficial information via social media or other fan sites please do not out them in threads, even at the urging of many members. This applies to twitter information (don't post the twitter account), set reports, fan pics of the stars and sets, or any yet-be-released information. You may however confirm them with a staff member via private message or chat so that we could, to the best of our ability, reasonably decide whether you are making things up. When you post spoiler information or pictures gathered from official sources such as media personalities on TVLine or EW Weekly this rule does not apply and we ask that you always list the names of the source.

Rule 5. On Character Spoilers and Spoiler Requests
You may have only one spoiler thread per character forum for the specific characters whom spoilers you wish to discuss in depth. For example, on the Glenn board a "Glenn Spoiler thread" may be posted where fans of Glenn can discuss any spoiler tidbit that comes out about him at length. Please label your thread in the character board accordingly. You may not harass any staff member in private or public for spoilers, the sources of spoilers, nor demand them in threads. Spoilers are not a right, but a privilege.

III. Self-Promotion

On Advertising
All advertisement of other TWD affliates, websites, and forums are prohibited unless cleared by the Administrator. However you are permitted to post links to personal sites or blogs in your signatures or on your profiles, but no where else. Please do not make posts or threads that are primarily for the promotion or advertising of any website, forums, email address, business, MLM, or other entities that you have an affiliation with. Nor is it allowed to solicit funds anywhere on the site.

IV. Avatars, Signatures & Profile Pictures

Rule 1. On General Avatars and Signatures Guidelines
Avatars and Signatures may not contain any content considered pornographic or overly disturbing, images deemed to be spoilers, or content that solicits funds. If your signature does not include an image, your texts may be up to 500 characters.

Rule 2. On Avatar and Profile Picture Sizes
Your default avatar size must not be greater than 120x120, and your profile picture may not be greater than 130x130 and neither must not contain anything that is against the guidelines of the General Forum Rules as well as the guidelines set forth for avatars. If you wish to purchase larger sizes via the site's shop then you may do so.

Rule 3. On Signature Sizes
Your signatures may contain a combination of pics or text that reach up to 500 characters and must not contain anything that is against the guidelines of the General Forum Rules as well as the guidelines set forth for Signatures.

We reserve the right to remove any avatar, profile picture, user title, or signature deemed obscene or inappropriate.
