I am so frustrated with that finale There was a lot that I liked about the episode, but it felt really rushed and would have been better served if it was 2 hours. With that cliffhanger there better be a season 11 too. I did love all of the CSM scenes and the Reyes storyline. Overall I thought the 6 episodes were really strong, but I thought we would have gotten some kind of payoff with the William storyline. I guess any future seasons main story will be focused on William now.
I was so fucking excited when I heard there'd be a mini-series. The X-Files became my favorite thing ever when I was 12 or 13 and I obsessed over it like a crazy person, kind of how I do with The Walking Dead now. I'll always welcome more X-Files...
The best episode of the new series (for me) was definitely episode 3 - "Mulder and Scully Meet the Were-Monster." It was so fucking funny and made so many references to the old episodes. I loved it. I loved all of the new episodes. "Home Again" was really cool too. I've always been a bigger fan of the stand-alone episodes than the ongoing mythology ones and my favorites are always the funny ones and the really disturbing ones. "Home Again" was creepy.
They better make a season 11...

I know!! I was kind of hoping they'd just ignore "Jump the Shark" or be like "Hey, they didn't really die. They faked their deaths for some reason..." I love The Lone Gunmen... :'( And we never really saw them die... Their caskets were closed... CSM on the other hand - I feel like after they "killed" him in so many episodes of the series only to show later that he wasn't really dead, over and over again, they wrote his death in the finale of season 9 to show the audience "Yes, he's really fucking dead this time." Having him actually kind of melt, on screen, in a gigantic fiery explosion sort of gave me the "he's not coming back this time" vibe... If he can come back from that, The Long Gunmen could have come back for real too... Maybe they will next season though... I hope so.
I'm really mixed with this announcement.
On one hand? More "X-Files!"
I love this series and we will have some closure to that weird-o cliffhanger a while back. However?
The last season they gave us was really random and all over the map.
It tried to be too hip with its updated material and the content felt extremely goofy.
