He doesn't need to be disfigured in order to fulfill his future comic story lines. We also don't need a rehash of season 2 where he basically got this NWO story line. But honestly I just don't want to see Carl, who I adore, or any kid for that matter get hurt like this and have to live and suffer with self hatred like he does in the comics. Kthanks.
that is the exact reason why it needs to happen.
It's the apocalypse, kids can get battle scars. He'll learn to live with it and that'll be compelling tv to watch, I don't want "safe" in my zombie show. I already have to deal with Daryl's greasy ass every episode....
Yes. I am quite indifferent to Carl but a injury story line provides him with some solid acting material, it sounds interesting, and gives him something dramatic to bring to the viewers. It's worth a try.
Why? Why grossly (and might I add unrealistically) disfigure the boy? Why? There are Soooo Many other ways of achieving the end result.
I (eagerly ) want that MonsterCarl. I want him so bad to have his arc. Chandler deserves his chance to shine!! I'm dying for dark and badass Carl Grimes. BUT do not blow half of that boys face off. Kirkman fucked that up. Here is his chance to make it more realistic.
Give him a horrible scar (a la Andrea) that effects his vision and makes him feel monstrous. Have him fall off the goddam tower which will result in a horrible brain injury that changes his personality. So many other means. But don't you dare take half that boys face off.
Beth should still be alive if we are saying people can survive gunshots like that in a non-comic environment. Kirkman has stated he ended up disliking his choice of cutting ricks hand off, as it was impractical down the road. I could see that logic carryover to Carl as well.
I've been against carls mutilation actually happening for a very long time and hope I'm right.
