The complete lack of honest suspense when encountering zombies, which made seasons 1-3 of TWD suspenseful. The whole purpose of the show is to see the early response and the show has done a shitty job of building suspense and terror. Silly jump scares are cheap, imo

I like the show. I would just want to see some more action. Some of the characters are pretty soft and fight about petty things and I think that would change if the zombies were a bigger threat. That being said, I don't think that is the direction they're taking the show so I have no expectations that someone will turn into a badass like Rick.

I have tried to watch the first 2 seasons on and off. The acting is beyond terrible. I can't connect with a single character. Everyone is stupid. The end.

In many ways, FTWD feels like a wasted opportunity. The first two episodes of Season 1 showed promise and was interesting. This was supposed to revolve around the beginning of the outbreak but it feels like we haven't spent enough time there. In terms of outbreak progression, the entirety of Season 1 should have mimicked "Night of the Living Dead" where we see things starting to go bad, except we are not seeing it from the perspective of several people trapped in a farmhouse. That's what Season 1 should have been. So much potential there.

Season 2A could have progressed things to the scale of "Dawn of the Dead" (1978, of course, haha). Its a couple weeks in, society still has a pulse but it's a fading one, the undead numbers continue to grow, etc. Nobody should get on that darn boat until the beginning of Season 2B. Instead, they rushed through everything.

However, I do have to give FTWD props for settings and locations. For a change, we got to experience the ZA on the west coast, the ocean (another great location that wasn't put to good use in my opinion), and Mexico. It broke new ground in that department.
