    Was Randell a threat?

So I've been rewatching the show season by season and I've just finished watching '18 Miles Out' and I know it's a bit far along to ask this question but it's always nice to revisit moments from our favourite show and that's what I'm doing, also my inion on season 2 has changed a lot since starting to re-watch it.

It's fairly clear at this point Rick didn't want to kill Randell but knew he had to for his groups protection. Then in 'Judge, Jury, Executioner' Randell says his group is about 30 strong with heavy weapons.

We all know that Rick's morale side came in to play and that he couldn't kill him (also due to Carl being present) but I really believe that Rick wouldn't of killed him anyway, ecspicially after '18 Miles Out'.

Rick was able to trust him '18 Miles Out' by letting him free and letting him drive the vehicle, if he wanted to kill Rick he would've then but he didn't, it was understandable the group be weary of him due to his group opening fire on Rick, Glenn and Hershel but he seemed to be fairly cooperative with Rick which made me question if he was a threat or not.

So what are your opinions, was Randell a threat? Or could he of been an asset to the group had he be kept alive?

By himself just wandering around, I'd say no. However, if he got let out to go find his group and bring them back, that's obviously a much bigger issue. He'd have to be watched, which is why killing him would be 'easier.'

I did love the moral dilemma though. It didn't seem like there was an 'easy' answer. And the scene where they are deciding whether or not to 'rescue' him is one of my favorites of the whole series. Randall being abandoned by his group, and then trying to decide if/how they would save him, with walkers descending in the dark alley... I thought it was great, suspenseful TV.

I think Rick didn't let him free and drive the vehicle I think Rick duct taped his head to the car seat.

About Randall being a threat or no, I don't think so, Rick saved his life after his group let him to die so I think in the end he will have been thankful to Rick for saving him, the problem was Shane's fear and because of that fear he poisoned everybody minds and that was what made Randall a threat.

I wasn't sure until Shane let him out, the way he talked and behaved in the forest made me think that if he had the chance he would bring his group to Rick & co.

Yeah I noticed that to, I've just finished watching better angels and noticed what he was saying, makes me question myself on the situation

I think he would have brought his group back to the farm. The way he was treated, he no doubt would have tried to get revenge

I don' think he would of been, Rick saved him when his own group left him for dead, I'm pretty sure he would of been grateful for that plus he even knew Maggie and her family so he probably wouldn't of done anything to them as he seemed to have respect for the Greene family, plus when Rick and Shane were leaving him in that parking lot he was begging them to take him back with them, he didn't want to leave Rick's group from what I could see.

I think that after it went to far he was a threat, but if they handled it differently at the beginning no.

I'm on the fence on this one. My thought is they should have killed him at the bar or on the way to the farm, rather than take him back to the farm.
