And quite often movies and TV show episodes are shot under a working title, which gets changed when the final product is released.

Well, only us, really. I know more people off the internet than on who watch this show. Not one of them knows, thinks about, or cares about episode titles. I'll mention a scene in [insert Episode title here], and inevitably I'm greeted with a blank stare. Once I change my approach to, "the episode where [fill in the blank] happened", I'm greeted with a chorus with "oh yeah. That one!".

I love it when they do this; Family Guy does it best.

It was fitting for the episode though - and Tyreese because it was important to him to remember what happened and know what's going on.

I'm pretty sure they have taken the title from dialog in the episode from the start. Guts, Tell it to the Frogs, Vatos, Wildfire, and TS-19 were all taken from dialog in season 1. Not sure about Days Gone By, but it wouldn't surprise me.

For the record, other TV shows done this too like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad and Arrow. It is not exclusive to the Walking Dead. I like it. It gives us an idea of what the episode is all about. Nor do I believe it is poor writing.

This is what I think, too. And I actually like hearing the episode titles in the dialogue.
