How Long Were People Starting to Reanimate Before the Show's Beginning?

The high school student tells the guidance counselor about the "virus" that he has read about online has spread to five states on the day she found out her son was hit by a car after witnessing a walker feeding on a victim. So by the time the show began , I think it is safe to say that the dead were beginning to walk already. The boy seemed scared enough to talk about it with the guidance counselor as though he had been reading about it online for some time. Enough to carry a letter opener to school. So while we can only speculate based on this evidence, thin as it is, how long before the show began were the dead rising? Two days? A week in order for it to scare a kid reading online? Any guesses?

Dr. Jenner at the CDC in Atlanta said in his video report: "It's day 194 since Wildfire was declared. And 63 days since the disease abruptly went global."

It looks like Wildfire had already been declared even before the show started, though for how long who knows. The government probably knew at least something was up, but kept it secret.

I'd guess they are a around or a little more than the halfway point of the 194 days.

Also possible it was happening before Wildfire was declared, and the disease was global before it was declared to be global
