    3 years

So if you watched The Talking Dead you may have noticed one of their guests said Carl has been growing up in this world for the past 3 years. It hasn't been that long, correct?
My coworker and I figure it's been maybe a little over a year since the outbreak on the show and maybe 2 years by now for the comics. Is that wrong?

in the show about 9-10 months have passed, so the apocalypse started about 12 months ago.
the comics are like 1,5-2 years i think..
so i guess they talked about time of production.

anther reason to hate talking dead. random guests.. I don't wanna hear people's thoughts on the show unless they've worked on the show. I hear people talk about and speculate about TWD everyday. don't need a random actor or some blogger or a comic spat off...
I'd say its been around 1-2 years. Carl is a total badass right now though

I like the random guests. The show is a year, about ten months but they use year. The Comic is 2+.

If I'm not mistaken, Rick woke up from his coma about 2 months post-outbreak, more or less. The events of S01 span just over a couple of days, like a week or so. Come S02, they are on the road for a couple of days and stay at Hershe's farm for at least a couple of weeks (it took Randall's leg one week to heal so at least a week took place between 2x09 and 2x10). According to some characters, the time jump between S02 and S03 was like 7-8 months. So I'd guess that it's been like 11 months since the outbreak, and 9 months since Rick woke up from his coma and the start of the show.

I don't mind them, when they actually know what they're talking about or seem like they've actually watched the show :P

that's a short "timeline" i made when watching everything again in January, shortly before season 3 continued.
I didn't change anything in it (so i don't know if you can do anything with my "notes"/short descriptions :D) but the days are 90% correct (maybe + or - a day here or there). I took notice of every "yesterday" and "the whole last week".
"Day 1" in my timeline means the day Rick wakes up from his coma and NOT when the apocalypse started, that was 60 days prior according to Dr. Jenner.
No-one knows how much time has passed between S2 and S3 but it has to be about 7 or 8 months (Lori had symptoms on the 10th day of Ricks return, so i guess she was pregnant at least 1 month then to even think about doing a pregnancy test; Andrea once talked about 7-8 months and then clearly said 7 months), so i added 7,5 months.

I still don't know about when everything took place, it was hot in S1 and got cold at the end of S2.. but only 22-23 days have passed.. so maybe it was mid September to mid October (September can still be very hot and Oktober nights are kinda cold already i guess.. at least in my country xD)

This notes were made with Notepad during watching the episodes and there's not much info in it. Sorry in advance.
+ 60 days apocalypse (Dr. Jenner)
14 days later: Shane, Lori, Carl fleeing city; Rick still in hospital

It's been about 10-11 months. 2 months with Rick in a coma,
1-2 months for the first two seasons, 7 months in between season 2 and 3.
