    Favorite Performance By Episode

This is a little different than asking who your favorite character overall is or who you think the best character over the whole series. Let's focus more on specific episodes where a character just truly shines and their performance just grabbed you. Whether you see the performance as Emmy worthy should be considered but should be the only consideration here. Sometimes a performance is just raw and while it would never be looked upon as being award worthy it might be special to you.

Im going to do my top 5 but don't let that stop you from doing as many or as few as you want to do.

    1. Gareth in Four Walls and a Roof. His speech to Bob is my fav part of the series hands down. He truly captured the essence of what such a person that had let go of all of their former morals and embraced the mister he had become. The matter of fact manner in which he discussed eating another person was simply beautiful.

    2. Shane in Pretty Much Dead Already. Here's a man that knew what was necessary to make it in a ZA but was always being held back by people that refused to see it and wanted to hold on to the old way of thinking. We see him keeping his cool with Dale, but finally snapping when he saw Rick carrying those walkers. There was just a certain acceptance that seemed to set in with everyone after that moment

    3. Lizzie in the Grove. One of my favorite child performances all time. She captured not only the confusion that her illness forced upon her but also managed to make me emphasize her. I wanted to let her have a pet walker so she could find happiness. Even if I knew it would only be short lived

    4. Carol in the Grove. Never has a character been faced with a harder decision to make and MMB truly captured the difficulty of making it. Then she chose to right a wrong and place her own life in the hands of another person.

    5. Glenn in Guts. SY really captured the underdog. He made me love the fact that the pizza delivery guy was the boos at that moment while the cop and the survivalist took notes.

Honorable mention to the Lord and Savior when he killed Dale and Gabriel just as he was about to walk outside to fight in NWO,

Carl in After, Judge, Jury and Executioner, Better Angels, the one in which Lori died, and Last Day on Earth (because Carl didn't flinch - he was cold as ice); Lizzie in The Grove; The Great One in Judge, Jury and Execution and Father Gabriel in every episode in which he's appeared.

    1. Rick in Too Far Gone and Try, both for the speeches. The duality alone of how receptive he is toward accepting different people speaks to the quality of his performances. In Too Far Gone it seemed as though Rick was persuading himself and appealing to his own humanity, not just The Governor's. In Try, the breadth of his experience comes out with a visceral conviction to kill Pete and change Alexandria, and he doesn't persuade anyone - he asserts and commands. Both really sold him as a leader to me, so I can't narrow it down.
    Spoiler Spoiler:

    2. Morgan in Clear
    3. Shane in Pretty Much Dead Already
    4. Carol in The Grove
    5. Negan in Last Day on Earth

This, plus Gareth in the episode where our intrepid explorers are trussed up at the trough, and Gareth is complaining about the paperwork. So wonderfully chilling. :)

    No Particular Order.

Shane in Pretty Much Dead Already - Shane snapped already and it was played very perfectly by JB.
Dale in Judge, Jury, and Executioner - hate the character but the actor did a damn good job in this episode.
Glenn in Spend - very traumatic and SY portrayed it easily.
Sasha in Try - very great portrayal of PTSD.
Lori in Killer Within - the death scene is very heartbreaking and SWC did a wonderful exit in the show.
Carol in The Grove - MMB did a good job on how she portrayed on how to handle Lizzie.
Rick in Too Far Gone and Conquer - His speeches are memorable.
Deanna in Conquer, Start To Finish, and Now - Tovah is just a really good actress that can shift emotions from one onto another.
Michonne in Thank You and Start To Finish - Michonne's interaction with Heath and Deanna are very good.
