Ok I'm lost
I freaking adore Troy, I even signed the petition to bring him back! Not necessarily because I think it will make a lick of difference, but because I really hope Daniel Sharman sees the amount of signatures and gets the warm fuzzies because people actually cared about his character and loved/appreciated what he brought to the show...

Troy was one of the best things in both shows. Killing him was a colossal mistake.
I freaking love this song! I don't know who Troy is though :D
Edge, go watch Season 3, you won't be disappointed :D

Taking into consideration what he has done, there wasn't room for him anymore. He had literally destoyed everything what Madison was fighting for.
Just because he's a bad guy doesn't mean there wasn't room. To me, that's like killing the Governor in season 3. I agree that he was an irredeemable bad guy, but I liked his bromance with Nick, and his...whatever with Madison. He was one of the last interesting characters. Madison isn't interesting to me in the least, and Strand fucking over everyone for his own gain for the millionth time is getting old. The actress the played Ofelia choose to leave, so I think Troy needed to live another year at least. They could've had Daniel Salazar come close to killing him, the dam gets destroyed like it did in the episode, which separates them from Daniel, which it seems like that happened anyway. Troy could've spent a long while trying to do good, but eventually going back to fucking up everything.
It just seemed like season 3 was in a hurry to introduce a lot of characters and then kill them.
I couldn't agree with you more, Spencer. Did you read the interview with the EP, Erickson? His decision to kill Troy was last minute, and purely for his own self interest because he was leaving. He said that he "needed closure". So he basically fucked over the fans, the actor/s AND the ratings for his own stupid reasons.
