(Telltale) The Walking Dead: The Final Season

First episode (out of 4) is out!

Looks like Clem and AJ join a Little Lamplight-ish (Fallout 3) Community and have to deal with outset drama from that. The first episode was really enjoyable.

    Spoiler Spoiler:

I like the characters and warmed to them fast enough, unlike Season 2 where it took about 3 episodes to care, and 3 (where Clem barely ranked side character)..fuck all of them ('cept Tripp and Jesus; they were cool).

    AJ is...weird...
    Spoiler Spoiler:

Can't wait for the next episode!

As usual expect some bugs. The opening sequence for me that recaps 1, 2 and 3 and lets you rechoose some options was 100% bugged out and the only thing that appeared was 'click to continue', and I never knew until I watched a playthrough until later that selective options were suppost to appear for me to choose (some didn't for her either). Like 'you saved Carly'/'You saved Doug'-'You shot Kenny'/'You did nothing'; none of them appeared, just blobs of red that the text was suppost to overlay.

    Spoiler Spoiler:

A bit slow. Some characters (Aasim, Louis) are more enjoyable than others (not the biggest fan of AJ...) An interesting storyline/place for the final season. Not sure if it's good or bad yet, we'll find out.

It was OK but as I explained to a friend of mine, it feels like you have very little control over things now. It's like "OK here's point A, time to get to point B". Maybe I'm jaded now but I LIKED feeling like I had the illusion of choice but in this one it's VERY obvious that we don't.

THINGS THAT NO LONGER GIVE YOU A CHOICE:

    - Silence: It can literally get you killed.
    - Killing walkers at the appropriate times: You wanna kill a walker? Nah, wait until the story tells you to even though it makes no actual sense.
    -
    Spoiler Spoiler:

    - Options given to you don't really align much with how your Clementine was/felt in the past.

    HERE'S SOME THINGS I DIDN'T LIKE

    - AJ's voice: He's like 6 and he sounds like a preteen. It's a little weird.
    - The lack of choice
    - Bugs. Kinda broke the immersion a bit.
    - Guy villain isn't Nate, but some weirdo named Abel.
    - The passage of time usually works in favor of the story but not this time. There's sooooo much left out and to the imagination. I was KIND OF curious of what happened with AJ at the ranch. It's hard to tell how old he is, how old Clem is, and how long the kids have been at the orphanage with RELATIVELY little problems aside from the twins.
    - AJ's impulse/late reaction came of little development. What made him jump to such an extreme conclusion at the most inconvenient time? There was nothing in the episode that truly indicated that he was that impulsive. IDKIDK

    SOME THINGS I LIKED
    - AJ/Clem dynamic.
    - The idea of an all children settlement.
    - Longevity of the episode
    - Ending shocker (even though it made no actual sense)
    - Some of the new characters
    - It was better than all of A New Frontier

Hopefully next episode is significantly better. Idk.

OK. Second episode was 4million times better.

    Positives

Showing the fallout of Marlonís death
    180 on Rubyís character
    Teaching AJ more substantial lessons
    Arrow/zombie gameplay (fun as fuck)
I was genuinely scared to see what my choices wraught.
AJ being shot scared the fuck out of me.
Lillyís return was well done. Itís great that with Kenny it was loving but Lilly itís adversarial.
Dialogue choices and dialogue was 100% much better.
James The Whisperer! He was awesome despite being on screen for little time
Teenage roooomance. I hope Clem loses her virginity before she inevitably dies. 😩😩

God just an all around much better episode. Makes me so sad that we may never get an ending
