No I get it.....but...we were hoodwinked into thinking he has been reduced to mush....he'll just ask to be re incarcerated upon finding his cell open or whatever ? Yea right....watch as that situation is exploited....

Maybe it’s from Judith’s early days training with the katana? It was obviously a very deliberate scar and they strongly hinted at some major event happening in the last six years that made Michonne wary of newcomers. It looks like they probably let people in that ended up turning against them. Hopefully we find out in flashbacks.

Perhaps it's a branding that Michonne did ceremonially for her huge losses and for her on going fight of strength and between what's right and wrong. Michonne is very Hell bent and an intricate, soldier serious about the things in her life that she believes and holds dear. I could see her doing this, it's part of my reasoning for liking her so much.

Maybe they saw his body and got to him as the helocopter was rescuing him. They being Michonne, Maggie, Daryl and Carol. I was just guessing what the scar could be while falling asleep last night, I have no idea, but am majorly intrigued.
