Of the main characters who have died thus far

I understood the theory/story behind the deaths of Shane, Otis, T-Dogg, Lori, Sofia and Amy. However, I disagree with the way the show had Dale die in season two. His death was for pure shock value unlike the other main characters who died for a cause. Dale would've been more useful during season three, especially during the period that Rick went crazy.

I didn't get T-Dog, Amy or Sophia's deaths .. they were pretty much pointless too.

When Dale got ripped open, i hated the person who wrote his death, i too believe he should of survived until at least Season 3 where Rick and The Governor meet.

Didn't they kill Dale though bc the actor wanted out of his contract? I was pissed about it as well, but he did get on my damn nerves in the last episodes he was in. He always looked like he was smelling a colossal fart.

I never heard that about the character who played Dale. He was the voice of reason and the group could've used him after Loris death and during Ricks insanity. I could've understood klling him off during the prison or farm invasion but to have a walker sneak up on him in a cow pasture was just pure non sense if you ask me.

    And yes, he wanted out.

I thought the new showrunner didn't like Dale and decided to kill him.

Well T-Dogs death was to save Carol. Amy's death played a role in who Andrea is today. Sophia's death and disapearance was one of the main story lines in season two. Her death grew Carol and Darryl closer and was a turning point for the entire group.

T Dogs death wasn't to save Carol

T Dog was already bitten and knew he was going to die. Carol was going to shoot him so he wouldn't have to turn but he told her not to and ran to the walkers so she could get away.

He was bit trying to protect everyone and stop the walkers getting in.

None of the deaths really made sense except for Amy and Sophia when it comes to how realistic they were.

Hated Dale being killed, but worse was the unrealistic way it happened. As I've said before, how does a rotten,
emaciated corpse body slam a grown man and rip his abdomen open with his bare hands, (or what was left of them). It was bullshit!
