this is confusing to me, if this takes place 10 years after the outbreak, in the latest episode they were gathering peanut butter, sardines, etc from a high school, but umm, 10 year old food?!?!?

Most canned food, if stored in the right conditions, will last beyond that. Peanut butter will basically last forever too. There’s guys on YouTube that eat old food and military rations that are over 100 years old and it’s fine, but it can be dangerous too if it went bad. I know I wouldn’t eat anything after that long, but in their situation I can see resorting to it.
wow, interesting....never knew this...although I can't see stuff like sardines lasting in the can, lol....but i'll look up youtube videos on this, thanks
Some foods last surprisingly long. MRE food from the military tastes like moose nuts, but it lasts awhile if I recall correctly.
Anyone else finding this show really poor. It seems to have Scott gimple problems off too much back story dragging out each episode so far when and you end up switching off?
In the garbage dump in the walking dead, I seem to recall seeing cans with that three circles logo on them. I took that to mean that they had a canning facility that was operational. Could be wrong though.
