    Favorite non ZA horror/paranormal books

I love creepy, scary books and I'm always looking for more good titles. What about you guys? What are your favorites that are not ZA or zombie related. Mine (so far) are Rosemary's Baby by Ira Levin, Heart Shaped Box and 20th Century Ghosts by Joe Hill and The Terror by Dan Simmons.

I like Poe's stuff, though my favorite thing by him is the poem "Annabel Lee". I also love anything by Stephen King.

I love all of Stephen King's stuff too. His son, Joe Hill, has a couple of books out and they super are creepy. I haven't read any Poe since high school so thinking about him reminds me of The Following.

Navy Dad, I'm staring at all of those on the bookshelf by my desk. Ride a stegosaurus, anyone?

My brother gave me a copy of Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere but I can't seem to get past the first few pages.

Me too, I had to go and re-read them a few times to feel the love but The Talisman and Shadowlands (Jack! & Henry!) just seemed such a seamless blend of both writer's talents. I think Shadowlands is calling me back again...

Does anyone else re-read their favorites about once a year, as I do? Just curious...

Ripley, I'm a MAJOR re-reader. I don't have a set schedule but I cycle through all my favorites every few years. I used to re-read Harry Potter (all of them) each year but I've had to take a break. I always re-read at least one Stephen King book a year. I also love the books they turned into movies- The Exorcist, Red Dragon, Silence of the Lambs.

I used to re-read It all the time until my divorce and I had to get rid of a lot of stuff. My ADD has gotten so bad lately, I'm lucky to keep up with the book I'm trying to read for the first time much less trying to re-read one!
