"The Devil in the White City," by Erik Larson. I suspect it was the historical basis for last season's AHS murder hotel. True story of Dr. Henry Holmes' "World's Fair Hotel" in Chicago in 1893, a torture palace with its own crematorium, gas chamber & dissection table that lured scores of young women to their death.

It's sitting on my table, next in line to Larson's "Dead Wake" about the Lusitania. Look forward to reading it.

Circle of Bones by Christine Kling. I have read it before, but it's a great summer read so I'm reading it again.

I just finished the novel "Olive Kitteridge" by Elizabeth Strout. It's about a middle-aged couple (Olive's a retired math teacher & Henry's a retired pharmacist) told through each of their narratives as well as multiple characters' POVs that illustrate the effect each of them had on the lives of the people in their small Maine town. It's beautifully written, almost like a series of short stories. It won the Pulitzer Prize in 2009 & was a National Book Award Finalist. Most of the characters who tell the story of this couple are young adults who were either former students of hers or employees/customers of his so I think it appeals to readers of all ages. It's a wonderful book. HBO butchered the crap out of it in a miniseries a few years ago so don't let that dissuade you from reading.

Are you ready for this? Infinite Jest by Dave Wallace, a biography on aforementioned author, The Portable Henry Rollins by eponymous, Get in The Van by Henry Rollins, and literally DOZENS of children's stories to my daughter along with The Odyssey by Homer.

Good grief @manscaper - when do you find time to sleep? I thought I was bad reading 3 books at one time - you've got me beat. Great to read to children. Used to love to do that.
