Kurt Sutter, Shawn Ryan Blast AMC Over 'Walking Dead' Showrunner Exit

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/liv...wn-ryan-406222

So much for Sutter taking over TWD. But yeah hopefully this doesn't have to do with Mad Men taking half the budget like they did last time, which was the reason Darabont left.

On the application for showrunner it should have a warning saying prepare to be forced to quit in a season or two.

Totally. I don't understand AMC's obsession with Mad Men, I'm not knocking it as a show, but it seems to do more bad than good on every other bit of programming on the network, AMC should sit them down, tell them how it is and just have it like that.

looks like it might be AMC and not Mazzara that fucked up here.

I just can't believe we are repeating this all over again, specially now that TWD is so huge, like even more than when Darabont was around. And Mad Men is still messing with it.

I don't know for sure, but just putting the pieces together, specially since Sutter & Ryan are really good friends with Mazzara that this is the exact same thing that happened with Darabont.

This does not bode well for the extended run of TWD.

I expected to see at least five or more seasons. Sutter and Ryan had no love for AMC's decisionmaking, and it looks as though AMC is wanting to be more like movie studios, where big budgets and quality filmmaking are only given green lights by who ya blow, rather than what you know.

We can only hope that this isn't the beginning of the end of TWD's run.

I really love how these guys stick up for each other. While a lot of the people chose to keep their mouths shut, Sutter and Ryan really voice how AMC screws it up. Respect to those guys.
I wonder what would happen if anyone in the cast would speak up about this. Wouldn't be surprised if that resulted in their character getting bitten by a walker the first episode back.

Even if I doubt it will happen, I really hope we get some explanation of what the fuck is going on. Why they really fired Glen and what their problems were. Glen doesn't really have anything to lose now that he's not working for AMC no more, so a honest explanation from his side would be appreciated. Back in the day when we first lost Frank, I remember thinking 'Well, this is it' for the show, but then Glen stepped in and everything Frank did wrong, Glen did right. I really hope we will see the same thing happen again, but can you really find a better fit than Mazzara for The Walking Dead? I doubt it.

I like Sutter as a person, but I can't say I'm that impressed with his job as a showrunner. Sons of Anarchy, I must confess, is good but not great. The quality of that show goes up and down, from fantastic to quite bad, and I would not want to see that happen to TWD. So I'm all for keeping my man Kurt far away from The Walking Dead.

I don't think it is possible, but I kinda want The Walking Dead to jump from AMC to another cable channel. Both FX and Showtime would be good fits, and they wouldn't have to deal with the Mad Men loving suits at that place...

You'd think they'd actually try to take care of the show.

I know that we don't know both sides of the story, but at the same time it's starting to sound really familiar. Very Darabont-ish.
